Washburn Trail

The Washburn Trail is the in-village route up Bull Hill (Mount Taurus) in Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve, a steep, rocky climb that rewards the effort with open ledges and river views rivaling Breakneck's. Because the Breakneck trailheads are closed for construction, this has become the go-to hard hike straight from town, with a trailhead off Route 9D near Little Stony Point. Bring plenty of water, and expect the parking area to fill on fair-weather weekends.
