For 57 years, Community Nursery School was Cold Spring's affordable morning preschool, run by the First Presbyterian Church of Philipstown on Academy Street and long directed by Rosemary Rodino. The program closed in June 2025 after enrollment shifted to the free universal pre-K now offered through Haldane and Garrison. The church building remains an active community anchor in the village.
