Breakneck Ridge is the Hudson Highlands' most famous climb: a short but steep, hands-on rock scramble that rewards you with sweeping views over the Hudson River and Storm King. Note that the Breakneck Ridge trailhead and the nearby Route 9D parking and Metro-North stop are closed for major connector-and-bridge construction and are expected to remain closed through 2026, so check current access before planning a hike. Nearby Bull Hill (Washburn Trail) from the Cold Spring side is a common in-town alternative.
