Breakneck Ridge Rock Scramble

The rock scramble is the hands-and-feet section of Breakneck Ridge that draws climbers and photographers, with steep granite pitches and sweeping views over the Hudson and Storm King. Note that the Breakneck Ridge trailheads remain closed for the Breakneck Connector and Bridge project, part of the Hudson Highlands Fjord Trail, and are expected to stay shut through the 2026 hiking season. Check current status before you come; the in-village Washburn Trail up Bull Hill is the recommended hard-hike substitute.
